Automotive Buildout

Project Details: Carlile Architects designed an extension to an existing wood-framed, metal-clad (3) bay automotive shop, located in Manteno, IL. Two additional bays were incorporated to enhance service capacity and feature improved vehicle lifts for under-vehicle repairs.

The design integrated a recessed pit for a flush floor-lift alongside a two-post lift. Key considerations encompassed optimizing site space while maintaining parking and circulation requirements, accommodating building height for lifts, upgrading electrical and HVAC systems, and integrating sanitary drains utilizing the
existing lift station and grease and oil interceptor. The architectural design seamlessly matches the original building's stone front, metal siding, and roof construction.
