Emergency Roof Repair
Project Details: The owners of the Moose Lodge #802 in Bradley, Illinois experienced a partial structural collapse related to an improperly installed roof replacement project on their one-story brick building. Two roof beams, spanning in excess of 45 feet over the building’s large banquet facility, had failed due to roof loads in excess of the design limits.
Carlile Architects evaluated the failure, provided immediate emergency stabilization design, and worked with the building owners to repair the structure. The project required the complete removal and replacement of the two failed structural roof beams, reconstruction of the roof, and installation of a new comprehensive roof system. Additionally, the electrical, mechanical, and fire protection systems were temporarily disconnected and reinstalled upon the completion of the project because of their attachment to the bottom of the roofing deck and celling system.
